Individuals wishing to become an Apple Certified Portable Technician (ACPT) must complete one hardware and one software exam at a minimum.
The hardware exam allows an individual to focus on Apple portable computers.
• Apple Portable Service Exam (9L0-205)
The Mac OS requirement is to ensure that technicians have the knowledge to quickly and efficiently differentiate between software and hardware issues.
• Mac OS OS X 10.4 Service and Support Exam (9L0-060) (included within the Xplorit 7-day ACDT course)
Currently Xplorit are offering ACPT as a 2 day add on to the 7 day ACDT course. New Engineers wishing to become both ACDT and ACPT certified can first take the 7 day ACDT course followed by the 2 day ACPT course. Existing ACDTs can just attend the 1 day ACPT add on.
